Chess
Chess has long been one of my favorite games, albeit one I have only played sporadically. In late 2012, after putting it off for many years, I finally played in my first tournament, the Fairfax Open.
On this page I'll occasionally post images, game scores (via PGN files), and commentary.
The Fairfax Open chess tournament is in its third year. It is normally held in the summer. But widespread power outages following the June 2012 derecho caused it to have to be rescheduled to December. Here are a few images I took, when not playing my own games.
